Philippe Gatta – Suquet – Col de la Porte – Peira Cava

After almost two months spent in Nepal for the Kangchenjunga expedition, I was really excited to run again. Earlier this week I resumed the interval training and Sunday we went to the Vesubie valley for a short and very pleasant Trail. There are only 1250 m of ascent, mostly on gentle slopes and the trail is quite good.

Distance: 24 km, ascent: 1250 m / descent: 1250 m.

Description: park in the Suquet (340 m). Follow the GR 510 to the Col de La Porte(signposts 127, 128, 194, 189). Continue to the Cime de Rocaillon (190, 193). Go to Peira Cava, either on the road 947, 48, 117) on the trail on the crest above. At the signpost 36, leave the road and descend to the Granges du Lac (172, Accrobranches). Continue the descent to the Col de Beasse (167) and then the Col de Rabon (164). Take left to the Coulet (161) and St Arnoux (160). Follow the trail which goes down to the river (yellow marks, not easy to find at the beginning). Pass the river on the small brdige (159) and return to the Suquet on the road (21a, 18).
