Philippe Gatta: Mount Vinson Summit Video

In December 2008 Berghaus athlete Philippe Gatta battled the harsh conditions of the Antarctic to summit Mount Vinson, the highest mountain in Antarctica (4,892m).

Discovered in 1957 Mount Vinson, also known as Vinson Massif, was first summited in 1966. To date around 1,000 climbers have successfully summitted Mount Vinson which is a much smaller number than those that have summited Mount Everest.
