Mallory team are official – 11 young people have been brought together today from 4 different countries (England, France, Spain and Monaco) to embark on an Outward Bound Classic. 21 days of adventures lie ahead of them – including 3 expeditions into the Lake District fells, rock climbing, canoeing, sailing, gorge walking, high challenges, underground challenges, team building challenges, environmental tasks… not to mention jumping in the lake every morning before breakfast!
Mallory team, by first impressions, seem to be a very capable, enthusiastic team. All of them are at important milestones in their young lives, which is exactly when the Classic is designed to have the most impact. I am hoping that they will rise to the challenges that I set them and am very much looking forward to the next 3 weeks and the journey that we have started today together… even when it starts by jumping in the lake with them at 7am tomorrow!
