Lightweight and comfy

These are probably the comfiest walking boot I’ve owned, very lightweight and love the inner sock for a snug fit, my only issue is that the grip has let the boot down majorly! I’ve had these boots for just over a year and have struggled so many times in the lakes with slipping on all sorts of terrain!

Comfortable but slippy

Bought these as work shoes as I do a lot of walking in my job, look good, very comfy but also very slippy to the point they are dangerous - I thought after some wear they would sort themselves out but 4/5 month in and they are just as dangerous, which is a real shame. Looking to buy some new work shoes now before I do myself a mischief.

Good, but not as good as I hoped

After looking into a variety of walking boots, I decided on these. I had planned several days away in the Brecon Beacons and needed some new walking boots that were going to be waterproof, as it was going to be snowy where we were going. Firstly, these boots look great and the fit was comfortable straight out the box. I’m a size 9, and these were true to size and left enough room for my toes to wiggle. The other reviews are right in saying that they are a little tricky to get on due to the inner sock design,  but once properly loosened they went on easy enough.  Secondly, and this is where I was disappointed, they are not fully waterproof. With a boot at this price, I was expecting my feet to be completely dry at the end of each day. Unfortunately, this was not the case. On the first day of using these boots, I was walking in light snow and on slightly wet trails and my toes were left wet. This was everyday on our trip. Due to the toes bending when walking, it caused a crease in the material of the boots on top of the foot which caused leakage. Overall, they’re a good walking boot, but I wouldn’t recommend if you’re planning on using them in wet conditions.

Comfortable, light & waterproof. Look good too.

Look great & are comfortable, very light compared to my last & so far they are waterproof but still need to really test them out. Got quite abit of room around the toes but with a smaller size it probably would be too small. The collar around the ankle is comfortable & makes it feel more secure, stops the annoying small bits from getting in. It is a bit fiddly to put on, its not quick to put on in a rush or if you need to make a quick dash from the tent in the middle of the night! However loosen it all and with practice it does become easier. Overall, happy & impressed.

Top Boot

Purchased black pair........swopped for brown/dark green pair... They fit like a glove.....have a sort of sock "tounge" to make a really snug fit.. Off to Everest Base Camp, so got few weeks to break them in.. Delivered in a couple of days...very impressed with the service

Berghaus boots

Just recently bought these and what a fantastic walking boot. Much comfier than a North Face pair i am familiar with. They are very easy to slip on and off, fantastic grip, lightweight and the best waterproof boots i have worn. Would strongly recommend to any keen hikers looking to cover lots of miles in all conditions!

Fantastic

I am very impressed with these boots. They are extremely comfy from the get go and do not need wearing in at all. I know people have had issues with the sock-like collar around the ankle, but once you know how to get them on, they are not an issue at all- and do not take nearly as long to get on as people say. Worse comes to worse, get a shoe horn for them. I could possibly see an issue for people with very wide feet, as my brother took slightly longer to get them on with the same method (and his feet are wider yet both size 10). They are substantially lighter than my previous pare of mid boots and they are definitely fast boots. I have yet to take them through severe weather, but so far they have been superb. They would be 5 stars, but as I mentioned about people with wide feet having an issue is the only reason so far for them to be 4.

Goody Quality light boots

These are good quality lightweight boots. My previous Berghaus boots lasted over 15years, mainly festival use, but after visiting a store I saw how light new boots are I decided to upgrade. I went for Berghaus again as I knew my size (0.5 size bigger) and appreciate there durability.  I wore then for the Glastonbury Festival and they were very comfortable. The sock is tight putting them on but that also stops anything falling into them. I walked around 40 miles in them with no negative comments to report. They were also trodden on with no visible lasting marks now I home. After a light clean I suspect they will still look new. They were used with only light rain and wet grass, I cannot comment on how waterproof yet, but I felt no moisture coming through. I definitely recommend.

Very comfortable, but awkward trying to get my feet into the boots.

Really really pleased with the look and feel of the boots, nice design also, but... it takes me almost 5 minutes to get the boots on, my worry is that the loop at the back of the waterproof insert to pull it over the heel, will come away, and it will then be very very difficult to wear these boots.. real shame about that awkward insert.. It will be interesting to see how others review the boots..
