The winner of this month’s Adventure Challenge is the British Geikie Plateau Expedition 2011. The team of four, consisting of Matt Tinsley, Alan Halewood, Neal Gwynne and Dave Mills, will head to the fringe of the north east Greenland ice cap to the Geikie Plateau region where they will attempt a number of first ascents of new routes and peaks.

“Getting involved with Berghaus through the Adventure Challenge has been an exciting experience. It was a great first step to be shortlisted for this award; the week of online voting that followed was a dramatic time, culminating in a rather close finish against stiff competition from another team. To receive the public’s endorsement and the support of Berghaus is a huge boost to our expedition.
The Berghaus prize money will help make this expedition possible and makes a significant contribution to our fund-raising target. The north east Greenland icecap in April will provide testing conditions for mountaineering and ski travel – it will be great to be kitting ourselves out with Berghaus equipment to help us accomplish our objective.”
