As a family, we had dreamed of winning the proverbial ‘holiday of a lifetime’.  A few months ago, thanks to Berghaus, that’s just what happened.

We entered the Spring/Summer 2011 Berghaus magazine competition back in July 2011 not really expecting to win, so the excitement built pretty quickly from the moment that the email announcing the good news arrived.  The arrangements were made very efficiently by the teams at Berghaus and Colletts Travel.  We flew from London Gatwick to Innsbruck Airport, where we were met by Thomas, the owner of the Berghaus Alpinhotel, our destination for a memorable holiday.

Our stay in Austria was simply wonderful.  Our room was excellent, the food superb and the hospitality second to none – the staff at the hotel helped to make our stay perfect.  We were there at a time when the area was experiencing more snow than it had for a decade and we certainly made the most of it.  The ski facilities were outstanding, with excellent transport links connecting all of the major resorts, for everyone from beginners to professionals.

We also enjoyed some great treks and made the most of the Tyrolian hospitality, sampling the delights of many bars and restaurants.  The scenery we experienced was beyond words and the photos that we brought back with us will always remind us of an unforgettable, fun packed holiday.

Wherever we were and whatever we were doing, our great Berghaus kit kept us warm, dry and comfortable throughout and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.
