I have to say that life has changed quite dramatically since I had my baby. Just to give you an example; I have not been outside the house a single evening/night for seven months. The little creature is totally depended on breast milk….he refuses to use a bottle, so not only do I spend the whole day at home looking after him, I also have to stay at home at night after my husband comes home. But hey, I’m not complaining, time flies by quickly and I don’t miss going out at night.

What I do miss though are the mountains….fresh air…nature… I haven’t been getting too much of it lately. But I am sure this will change soon as Sebastian (as the little boob monster is called) will eat more and more normal food and therefore be able to spend more time with his grandparents, who are more than happy to babysit. The winter season is just starting here in Norway, and although all my energy has gone into moving house lately my skis and snowboard are smiling at me because they know they will soon be going for a ride.

So I’m sitting here with my two week old son Sebastian. My life has suddenly changed dramatically, he is not too much work though he sleeps most of the night and I wake up well rested and with time to do some yoga before he demands his breakfast. But during the day he is a handful, luckily he loves sleeping in his pram so I can go off on long walks with him.

A lot of people ask me what is most extreme, base jumping or giving birth, and there is no doubt that giving birth beats it all! I will not go into too much detail in order not to scare off mums to be, but I can say as much as that the pain is beyond anything I have felt before. I was a bit unlucky though because they had to induce labour with loads of hormones, meaning I had hard core contractions for 29 hours……. It was so painful I couldn’t sit or lie down, I had to stand most of the time, and I would puke up even after one sip of water.

But the good thing is that the whole experience is just too farfetched and surreal so there is no way of relating to it after it is over, and when they put that little thing in your arms it is all forgotten:-) The emotions are overwhelming! No base jump has ever given me that much adrenaline lasting for so many days, nor so many happy hormones or wild emotions It beats everything I have done before and makes base jumping seem boring……almost

Wow, time flies by quickly. It doesn’t seem like long ago when I discovered I was pregnant, and now I am suddenly so close it could happen any day! The baby is all developed and ready, and is only spending the last weeks now to gain weight. I have been spending my time doing a lot of skiing and a lot of yoga. I have been training in pregnancy yoga so I can start teaching this next year, and I have studied for my exam in anatomy, so I have kept myself busy. But I have also been doing some modelling. This time off course as a pregnant girl

A photographer I know came up with the idea to make a pregnancy yoga book, so we have been working on this for the last couple of weeks, trying to get all the pictures we need before the baby comes. We are making the book in collaboration with Elizabeth Connolly, a famous UK yoga teacher who has been working with pregnancy yoga for 35 years and is very skilled in the area. We also have two graphic designers making the layout which I think will look really nice The next step now will be to find a publisher for the book and of course finish writing it

I guess there’s no point in trying to hide it anymore, being 6 months pregnant my belly is living it’s own life and getting bigger from week to week. The baby is due in April and it’s all very exciting. But I am conscious not to let this limit me in doing the things I love. I figured that the more sports I do the easier both the pregnancy, delivery and recovery will be, so I have made a point out of getting up in the morning to do my yoga practice, although with a few modifications and more breathing in between postures. I have been skiing and snowboarding as much as possible, but with the right precautions. I try to stay out of crowded areas and opt for powder days so there’s only soft fluff when I fall. There isn’t really any jumping to be done in the winter anyway so in that way I’m not stressed

Over Christmas I spent 3 weeks in Brazil, travelling all over. Although with a couple more hours daily spent relaxing in the hammock I still enjoyed the trip as I would have if I wasn’t pregnant.

During the trip we stopped in the national park of the Iguazu Falls, some great water falls on the border of Argentina and Paraguay. They had boat trips under the falls but did not allow pregnant women. I could not see a reason why I couldn’t go on the ride so I tried to hide my belly as we bought tickets.

They were very reluctant at selling us the tickets, but I assured them I was not pregnant but had only eaten a little bit too much for lunch…ha ha. I guess some pregnant women could panic on a ride like this, but I think trying to tell them that I could take care of myself and that I was a base jumper and had been snowboarding only the week before would not have made any sense to them. So I played the girl who ate too much instead, and they had no choice other than to sell us the tickets the ride was fun but the only extreme thing about it was that you got extremely wet
