I’ve recently been climbing at Carrock Fell in the Lake District.
The above image shows my climbing partner Justin heading for the Trough, there wasn’t much snow but superb ice. The three ice streaks on the left aren’t quite formed but nearly there – the standard route is up the gully bed on right and is in superb condition giving three pitches with a very short section that is III.
