Technically this is a baselayer, but as we consistently pull it from the pile and pair with a light gilet for warm evening rides, it seemed right to share the versatility. It works well as a jersey because it’s made from a beefy base fabric so you don’t feel as though you’re out in your underway. It wicks superbly, with mesh under arm vents to aid the cooling process, and combined with the properly long length and accommodating cut, is completely unrestrictive.
The flat-locked seams make it comfortable to wear under a pack or when layering up when you do use it as a base in the colder months.
If we’re being picky – as we often are – we’d have liked it to have a chin guard, but overall this is a great top that’s versatile through all the seasons.
