After enjoying a relaxing week with my wonderful, long suffering wife Jessica here in sunny, windy Cape Town it’s time to step up the pace.
The motley crew is assembled, Jess has gone, reams of Berghaus jackets are strew around Dave’s folks house, dozens of batteries are on charge and anticipation is running high!
Between the 6 of us we managed to get almost 500 kg of luggage on the plane without paying any excess baggage! Bonus!
Slight, major issue in that our 1000 kg box of gear and food that I shipped out 6 weeks ago is held up in customs, but I have it on good authority that it will be released “just now”.
Which rather worryingly is African speak for whenever… but I’m sure it’ll be fine.
Just a few more items to add to the war chest and finally we’ll have everything we need. An unbelievable amount of stuff, at least 10,000 different items 90% of them crucial to success. The months of planning are almost over, the action is about to begin!
Maybe a quick cocktail session in Camps Bay first!
