Great boot

Comfortable from the outset. Feel like good quality footwear, which should hopefully last well.

Walk tall

The last pair lasted 20 years or more until I passed them on. I won’t be passuthrse ones on, they’re for life. Nowadays that’s a rare thing. Comfort and an effective architecture make this a classic boot. Breathable waterproofing with a leather upper so it ages gracefully and a replaceable Vibram sole while still yielding a light enough boot fit for most climates.

Very Nice Long life boot.

I bought these on amazon 24 March 2021 and these have been the only shoes I have worn daily for the 3 years I have worn these. From riding a motorcycle in all weathers to going on walks or using them as work boots these have been nothing but good to me. At this point they could do with a new inner sole and the vibram outer sole has needed replacing for a very long time but these boots are still completely waterproof and fit very well. I could not recommend these higher.

Zero confidence

I've owed these boot's for a couple of year's now and I can honestly say they are scary and potentially dangerous. If you are getting them to walk the dog across a field or a bit gravely pathway they are fine. If you are going on wet rocks or some of the stone steps with a bit of a drop they are terrifying. If the only thing connecting you to the ground is the sole of you boots it's no good if you're slipping like your on ice a couple of hundred feet up. You've got to have confidence in you boots and right now writing this I have zero in these.

Don't bother

Bought my boots a year ago. I walk my dog twice a day. The tread was starting to wear after 3 month, now they are unsafe and slippy. Lovely comfortable boots and water tight but the tread is too soft and I wouldn't recommend for older folk as they slip on lightly wet surfaces. I've slipped on concrete steps a couple of time. I'm gutted I really liked these boots but gonna try else where. Shame Berghaus.

So far, so good

After having a famous German brands sole disintegrate on me and then baulking at the cost of a potential repair I headed down to my local Gooutdoors. A conversation with one of my scouting colleagues who worked their reinforced my decision not to resole but replace the afore mentioned boots. I generally do a broad spectrum of walking with my Scout's volunteering have neither the time or finances to have a vast array of footwear, after trying on various boots I was drawn to the Hillmasters which obviously reminded me of my Brashers back in the day. So I tried them on a pair and it was like welcoming back an old friend. Since my purchase they have been to the Peak District in November for four rainy/snowy days, two multi night wet and cold scout camps and a four day trip to Budapest in sun, rain, sleet and snow with not a wet toe insight. The grip is designed as per Brasher for soft mud ie moreland and grips very well and I've had no issues of slipping as some have stated on hard wet surfaces. The GTX holds the moisture at bay but it's the fit, all these narrow toe boxes of European boots do not match these feet but I'm pleased to say that Berghaus have stayed true in spirit to Chris Brasher for a larger toe box. They do exactly what they are designed to do support, keep dry and fit wether they last is another story but you have surprised this old hillwalker Berghaus, avoid the boot snobbery and give em ago.

Perfect

This is the second pair of these boots I've had, they are perfect I've had the first pair for 7 year and worn them every day. But now are showing there age and are used now just for the gardening. The new pair are showing all the promise of the first pair. A perfect fit worn straight out of the box, no blisters or breaking in required. Perfect walking boots.

Let down by slippy soles

Love the boots but they have no grip on a flat wet surface I've fallen twice this week.
