Not up to the Job

Been wearing mine for around 4 weeks ,quite comfortable but the first heavy downpour and they failed after around 15 mins I could feel the water leaking through both boots in the same place . Really disappointed as I bought these specifically for walking in the winter months.

Great Boots

Easily the comfiest boots I have owned the current pair are a year and a half old and used on a daily basis to walk my dog. Our walks are basically on grass or on the beach and the boots still remain 95% waterproof unless faced with torrential rain when they are susceptible on occasion to allow moisture to penetrate. The only area that is failing with my current pair is the soles which are now losing their grip and will need replaced before the winter sets in. On average I will walk circa 20k steps per day seven days a week so possibly understandable. The next pair will be getting ordered at the end of this month with my current boots relegated to garden duties

Hill walker boots

I bought theses men’s boots as they seem to be a better fit for my wide feet than the ladies’!  So far, so good! As they are leather they need to soften more but they are very comfortable!

Not waterproof

Do not waste your money on these....I have a pair, only 9 months old and letting water in badly.

Walking boots

This is my fourth pair of these boots and I will not buy anything else so comfortable to walk in

Great boots, comfortable in all weather, and great service from Berghaus.

Berghaus walking boots

I have had a pair of hillwalker 2 for the last four years and I’ve worn them down so I thought I would get them repaired but the cost was prohibitive luckily the people at begahaus offered me a 30% discount off a new pair so I bought some What an excellent service

lightweight and comfortable

I always order half size larger when I order Berghaus boots and although these move slightly at the heel when wearing thin socks I believe that a smaller size would press on my toes. The boots are very comfortable to walk in, the leather is good quality and flexible. I have yet to wear them in extreme weather but so far they have kept me dry in wet grass.

Good - BUT!

These boots are obviously well made from good quality materials and I am hopeful that they will prove to be durable as a result. However, my first two expeditions with them have proved to be somewhat underwhelming! After the first walk (of only an hour and a half) I had an open wound on my upper ankle as the collar was so unyielding (and has something very hard inside) and pressed into the flesh causing the damage. On my second outing (after the wound had healed), I wore an ankle support under my sock to cushion the pressure. This did help a bit but the tongue is so unyielding at the front that it causes abrasion on the upper ankle and proves to be severely uncomfortable. In the end, I didn't lace the top lugs so that the pressure was reduced. This obviously reduces the ankle support, which is not good, so I was not impressed. I am hoping that, with continued wearing, the tongue will soften to the extent that it becomes comfortable - time will tell. For a relatively expensive pair of boots, I am surprised that the design of the tongue is so poor when the rest of the boot is very good. I have recently bought a pair of Craghoppers Trek Boots as a second pair for less demanding walking - admittedly they are a softer, more lightweight and probably less durable boot but the tongue and collar were supremely comfortable from the first step.

Not the best

There comfy and warm until the water gets in, unfortunately the water always gets in even though I keep on top of the waterproofing. Try the hillmaster before these
