Wearable straight out of the box.
Ive been buying these boots for years simply because they're constantly dependable. The revamped model has a few changes Im not exactly sure of. Firstly the most noticeable is that the ankle doesn't come as far round as it used too, maybe this one change once I wear them in more but straight from the box I can feel there's much more of gap no matter how tight you tie them. Will this affect the ankle support given? Time will tell. Secondly the tongue doesn't seem to be joined at the sides quite as high as it used to be taking away that bit more protection from water and dirt getting in. Shouldn't be a problem if you wear gaiters but every little helps on the hill. The third thing I notice is there's no tongue at the back to help pull them on and hold your trousers up off the ground. I know there's probably not many of us it but Im one that does. In all they still seem to be a solid very comfortable shoe straight of the box. Only time will tell if they're still as robust.

Second pair of this boot in 8 years. Comfortable straight away, need a little breaking-in, but nothing excessive. Not been out in the wet yet, but my previous boots performed very well, lets hope these do, too. Not keen on the flat laces, minor issue though. Ordered half size above to cater for thick socks. Arrived quickly after ordering.

I haven’t had these long but I’m quite impressed. They’re very comfortable and easy to wear for long periods of time, and that was straight out of the box. The grip is excellent, they give you a lot of confidence on rough or slippery terrain. The water proofing is pretty good too, although it’s only going to protect to a certain level. With the size, I usually take between 10-11. They only had 11.5 in stock so I took a risk on it. It fits well, there’s enough space for thick socks and without feeling too big. Overall I’m very pleased.

Excellent boots from the off. Very comfortable and fitted perfectly. I had bought them to do the Pennine Way but the extended lock down nobbled that but I have worn them regularly around Richmond Park and they have been marvellous. I have not tried out the waterproofing yet (it's been too dry) but I am reassured that if there is a problem I can send them back. In the meantime, the boots first real work out will be on the Yorkshire Wolds Way in September. Great boots. Buy them..

Comfy from the outset, ready to trek.. CouldnÂ’t get them in ladies size 6 online (for my wife).

Very comfortable from the outset and if like my previous pair, very long lasting. Prefer round laces

My second pair and very comfortable out of the box and I can wear thick socks with them.. Top two eyelets are a bit close together as I find I get the laces in the wrong loop lacing them up. Would prefer an eyelet on the tongue like my Meindle boots. A selection of brighter colours would not go amiss

Light on the feet.. Not as comfortable as I was expecting. Laces are thin and fiddly.
