In the beginning…
In late 2019, a group of individuals approached our team, here at Berghaus, with a proposition that struck a chord with us. It started when Ed Jackson dropped us an DM on Instagram, asking if he could contact us with information of an epic expedition to attempt Mera Peak.
Of course, we hit reply.
Come October, Ed and some of the M2M team jumped on a flight from London to Newcastle and met us at our Sunderland based office. The rest they say is history…
We won’t gas on for too long, because there’s a mini-film below that can tell the story better. But what we will say is, by December 2019, Ed Jackson had led a team in the attempt to summit the highest trekking peak in Nepal and in the process became the first quadriplegic to do so…

Past the Peak
M2M Presents is a charity focused events company started by two ex-professional sportsman, Ed Jackson and Olly Barkley.
As you’re probably aware, after breaking his neck in a tragic accident in 2017 Ed was forced to retire from professional rugby and contemplate facing a life quite different than the one he was used to. After defying opinion, Ed is now summiting mountains and pulling others with him.
The guys have a desire to create unique experiences that could in one of a few ways, help people. One, by trying to make a significant difference for others to get outdoors and enjoy the benefits of doing so. And, two: create a difference financially through the money they raise.
M2M not only represents Ed’s journey from the first time he moved his toe to now climbing mountains but the way anyone can overcome a challenge facing them in their life.
Start small and dream big.
All funds raised from the expedition go towards the build of a new spinal unit in Chitwan, Nepal. Ed also kept us updated during the push to the peak, you can read more about their journey on our blog.
