I’ve had a few attempts to find a decent vegan hiking boot over the years, but sadly, they’ve not come up to scratch so far, so I’ve continued buying leather boots, not something I’m happy about. Anyway, I bought a pair of the deception boots in November 2024, thinking I’ll give them a go, as Berghaus usually do a good job with their kit. We’re in late January now and I’ve been out in all weathers at least once a day (walking my dogs), usually twice, and they’re fabulous! I usually get through a pair of leather boots in about 12 months and think that they’ve done ok, anything longer than that I consider really good, so time will tell with these boots, but, I’m really pleased so far, totally waterproof, very comfortable, straight from the box (even though I thought they were a bit stiff when I first tried them on) and after a quick clean, they still look brand new! I’m that impressed I’m seriously considering buying a back up pair for when I wear these out! Well done Berghaus!
