5An excellent very comfortable boot.. When you lace it up, the top ties are difficult to do as the tongue of the boot gets in the way. I have had many pairs of your excellent boots, but this is the first time this minor irritation has occurred.

Good strong soles , ...
5Good strong soles , metal lace fastenings , high ankle support for a mid boot and they work well with my orthotic insoles which is why I stick with this make of boots. For some reason they have switched to flat laces from the round ones and they are not as strong and don't grip when tying meaning it was taking 2 or 3 tries to tie them so I replaced them within 3 days with an old pair of laces from my old boits

Goretex is essential...
5Goretex is essential for the Scottish Highlands where I live. The new boots were ‘old friends’ as soon as I put them on. I’ve worn Explorers for many years.. Tread is a bit mean and will probably wear out quickly. Cut away heels are basically more dangerous than traditional sharper cut. They caused many slip accidents when introduced in hill boots generally many years ago. I am disappointed to see my new boots with cut away style.
