Quality has really gone downhill
1I've been a loyal Berghaus customer since the 1970s, when they were based at the LD Mountain Centre on Grey Street, Newcastle. I've had loads of fleeces and multiple waterproof jackets. One of my most recent purchases was a black fleece jacket, of the type I wear almost all winter. I already have a blue and a red one, which I bought in 2014 and which are still in great condition. However the new black one is made of far inferior material. The fleece has already flattened and gone a bit shiny on the elbows and I can even see the shape of my mobile phone embedded where it normally sits in a pocket. This feels like the kind of thing a Private Equity firm would do to a successful brand. Buy the company, exploit brand loyalty, trash the product quality, bump up the profits, flog the business at a massive profit, then leave the tattered brand flapping in the wind. What is Berghaus up to?

Quality fleece
5Bought this for a present for my husband  who is very happy with it. Good length for tall man, slightly longer at back. Arms are a good length. Great quality fleece. He has had one for years which he is still wearing.Â

Good fleece
4Expensive for what it is, but a nice warm fleece. Slightly longer/oversized in general than I’d have liked compared to other brands of the same size.

Berghaus jacket
5The quality of the material in the berghaus jacket was amazing. The fit was very good, well worth the money, so if anybody is looking for a comfy jacket have a look at berghaus. I would certainly recommend it

It's multi functional
4It's multi functional as can be zipped into my Cornice jacket. The sleeves are too long & would like more pockets.Easy to deal with/order & delivered promptly.
