I've worn this out on a couple of hikes and wished I'd worn less underneath it on both occasions. It's lightweight, super warm and holds in heat like nothing else I've owned. Well shaped neck and hood construction with room for a beanie or cap. I haven't used it in the rain so I can't comment on it's performance there but it might be nice just to cool you down a bit!! Definitely a cold, winter jacket but zipped underarm vents would be a blessing (hence my 4 stars rather than 5).
