Excellent Lightweight Boots - Worthwhile Investment
5Bought these after having several cheaper pairs of (non Berghaus) fabric boots which didn't last, and failed to keep water out. I decided to buy the best I could afford and as these were in the sale, went ahead. They looked they would support my thin, wobbly ankles, as well as being lightweight (handy for travel by bus, train and plane as I don't drive). Additionally, as I often tend to get caked in mud living in Devon, I thought leather would be easier to clean. I found that size 4.5 fitted me well (good to have half sizes available) and had my first short walk with them the other day on Dartmoor. I felt the boots were comfy and snug , and felt safe with steep ascents and descents (important for me as I walk on my own). There was the start of a very tiny blister on one ankle at the end of my walk, but this is normal for me if boots are new and I forget to place Vaseline on the backs of my ankles before heading out. I will try them out in rainy weather soon , but so far, I am very pleased.

Great quality
5Have had two other styles of berghaus before, the expeditor and the walking shoe, both good but wanted to upgrade. These are beautiful boots, they are slightly heavier than the name suggests. I bought half a size up to allow for thicker socks. Have now worn them in over a couple of weeks and had no problems, lovely and comfortable and I love them. They do feel different to wear after the expeditor but they are much smarter and I think with looking after they will last longer. Great value for money in the sale.

Great boots but a bit narrow
5I bought these online to replace a much loved pair that were similar. When they arrived I immediately thought they would be too narrow as the previous ones were noticeably wider but they seem to be ok and are generally very comfortable. Good to be able to get the half size.

Use to love these shoes
2Not sure what happened but I used to love these shoes must have had at least 4 pairs. However my last pair I ordered a size 6 as usually and now they are to big! So I returned and ordered a 5.5... they feel completely different. Normally I put them on and they fit like a glove.. not anymore. I put them on and have a blister after my first walk. They feel narrow and tight at the back. I think it might be time to find myself a different walking shoe after many years of having these.

Lovely Boots but small
3Great boots, have had a similar style for years, but what's happened? They are much tighter around the heel/ankle and no loosening of the laces will help. Am going to have to stop wearing as damaging my ankle. Are all your boots coming up smaller?

Great Service, Great Boots!
5I bought these boots under Berghaus Repair and renew repairs policy; Repairhaus, replacing a v. old pair of boots (15yrs! ), the soles of which had come away. I was so delighted to find this  policy ! Well done Berghaus for re-manufacturing old outerwear and footwear! Well done for parcelling with only 4 small self adhesive discs and otherwise no plastic! Having worn fabric boots for years I wasn't sure how comfortable leather boots would be. After walking round the house for half a day I decided they were worth a try out, that was 3 walks and about 7 miles ago. Now they feel like gloves. Surprisingly light , they weigh less than my previous fabric boots by another manufacturer. Fantastic! Top Marks! If they last only half as long as the last pair they will have been a bargain!
